PRE-SWING Stance is square (shoulders, hips, knees and feet parallel to target line) Width of stance is personal preference Ball played off target toe or target heel (produces overspin) Target eye directly over the ball Grip is personal preference (must have the palms facing each other) IN-SWING Pendulum motion (acceleration) Use shoulders and arms (not wrists) Maintaining angles in wrists (the way the wrist start is the way they stay) Speed putt - a stroking putt (longer and smoother) ROUTINE Mark your ball Clean your ball Aim (spot or line). Place your putter and pick intermediate target. Always practice or putt with a constant routine (aids in good technique, alignment, and timing) Practice putting looking at the hole while during stroke requires good routine, great for speed control, target awareness and less technical thoughts. |
